A 1952 style dress with circular skirt. Bodice fronts tie in knot, draping the bust fullness softly. Slide fastener closing at centre-back, built up neck-line. Long, kimono sleeves with gussets at underarm.
The waist that starts high, with a knot just under the bosom, dips deeply in back, over a serene width of skirt. The original, in brown wool; very elegant too in black silk.
